Claire Pettibone Genevieve Stretchy unclassified dresses

I went extraordinarily over budget to buy this dress. After 3 appointments and a BHLDN dress in the mail that didn't work out, I was stuck. Then I found Claire Pettibone. I went to the store not knowing the price range of these dresses (oops). I tried on 7 and loved every single one -- sometimes you just find the designer that works for you. I narrowed it down to my favorite -- the Genevieve. I couldn't bring myself to spend 5x my dress budget, so I left the store. It was a sad day. 3 months later I was still thinking about the dress, so I decided to nix floral all together (we were getting married outdoors so I figured we could let nature do its thing). We also cut some corners by trading with some vendors. In the end, I got it. It was the biggest splurge of the entire event -- and it was SO worth it. Everyone said they had never seen a dress quite like this. It is romantic, dreamy, delicate, ornate but somehow still subdued. And -- SO COMFORTABLE. Which was important to me on my wedding. There is no boning and the lining is silk. It feels like a nightgown. It was great for dancing and photographed so beautifully.
